Mera Peak Climbing (6,476m) is the highest permitted trekking peak in Nepal, situated in the remote and rugged Hinku and Hongu valleys, just south of Mt. Everest. This majestic peak rises above a landscape of pristine alpine lakes, dense rhododendron and pine forests, and glaciated valleys, offering an adventurous route into a rarely visited part of the Himalayan wilderness. The trek to Mera provides not only a physical challenge but also a deeply immersive experience in self-sufficiency, with long days on trail and nights spent in basic lodges or tents. Proper acclimatization is crucial as you ascend toward the summit, which rewards climbers with sweeping views of five of the world’s tallest mountains—Everest, Lhotse, Cho Oyu, Makalu, and Kangchenjunga—on a clear day.

Mera Peak Climbing is ideal for trekkers with basic mountaineering experience who are ready to take their first steps into the world of high-altitude climbing. It offers the perfect blend of trekking and mountaineering, making it an excellent choice for those seeking both challenge and reward. The adventure begins with a thrilling mountain flight into Lukla, one of the world’s most dramatic airstrips, setting the tone for the expedition ahead. From Lukla, you’ll embark on a 6-day approach trek that winds through dense rhododendron, oak, fir, and birch forests, gradually gaining elevation while allowing time for proper acclimatization. Along the way, you’ll camp near glacial streams and alpine lakes, surrounded by towering peaks and unspoiled wilderness. The approach to Mera Base Camp unfolds across a landscape that grows increasingly wild and scenic with each passing day.

Mera Peak Climbing itself is non-technical but demanding, requiring the use of crampons, ropes, and basic climbing gear. Our carefully designed itinerary includes plenty of acclimatization days, technical briefings, and optional climbing clinics. The summit rewards you with stunning 360° views of Everest, Lhotse, Makalu, Kanchenjunga, Cho Oyu, and other giants of the Himalayas.

Whether you choose a full Kathmandu-to-Kathmandu package or a Base Camp to Base Camp service, Navigate Outdoor ensures you have all necessary climbing permits, gear support, certified guides, and porters for a safe and successful summit.
