Why choose the Tamor River Expedition?
Adrenaline-packed Rapids:

Stunning Natural Beauty:
The valley remains remote and largely untouched by modern development. Wooded slopes, peaceful campsites and vibrant wildlife create an immersive wilderness experience.
Authentic Camping Experience:
Each riverside campsite is chosen for its beauty and tranquility. Evening yoga, meditation and wellness sessions help you relax after paddling.
Wellness on the River:
Our expeditions blend adventure with self-care. Guests enjoy gentle morning yoga and riverside meditation. This helps them connect deeply with nature.
Local Culture & Cuisine:
The region is home to over 27 languages and diverse ethnic groups. Our guides prepare fresh local and continental meals at camp. They also share authentic cultural stories with guests.
The Journey – Trek & Raft Combo
The journey often starts with a scenic trek from Basantapur. You pass through forests, ridges and traditional villages. A highlight is an overnight stay at Gupha Pokhari Lake at 2,880 meters. From there you descend to Dhovan, the rafting put-in point. This trek adds authenticity and strengthens your connection to the landscape.
Note: Taplejung airstrip is an alternative starting point. However, flights are infrequent and weather-dependent. We strongly recommend the trek-in option.
Contact Navigate Outdoor for the ultimate Tamor River Expedition. It pairs perfectly with Nepal trekking adventures like Everest Base Camp trek or Annapurna Circuit trek.
